Chief Strategy Officer, RoboMed Global
Dr. Tagbo Azubike is a healthcare strategist working at the intersection of health systems transformation, institutional finance, clinical governance, and technology-enabled care. His work focuses on building trusted healthcare institutions and platforms that expand access to safe, high-quality specialist services in emerging markets.
As Chief Strategy Officer of RoboMed Global Inc., he advances the company’s ecosystem strategy for robotic surgery, integrating strategic partnerships, regulatory alignment, clinical governance, surgeon training, and innovative financing. His approach positions trust not merely as a reputation to be earned, but as essential infrastructure to be deliberately designed into healthcare delivery. This integrated model has supported the delivery of the region’s first telesurgery initiative.
Dr. Azubike brings extensive experience in healthcare platform development, institutional leadership, and health financing across Africa and international markets. As an International Healthcare Management Consultant to Afreximbank, he led the design of the Bank’s first Management Services Organisation (MSO), a shared-services platform intended to strengthen governance and financing for healthcare providers across Africa and the Caribbean.
He also served as Project Manager in the establishment of the $300 million African Medical Centre of Excellence in Abuja, developed in partnership with King’s College Hospital, London. As Country Ambassador for the Health Finance Institute, Washington, DC, he conducted a national scoping study assessing Nigeria’s readiness for blended financing of non-communicable disease programmes.
His policy experience includes serving on Nigeria’s Presidential Health Sector Reforms Committee, contributing to health facility regulatory reform. Earlier, as Medical Director of JCI-accredited Lagoon Hospitals, he provided leadership during hospital integration and specialist programme expansion.
Dr. Azubike holds a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from the University of Lagos and an MBA in International Healthcare Management from Frankfurt School of Finance & Management. He is a Project Management Professional (PMP®) and a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
At RoboMed, he brings together strategy, clinical insight, institutional partnerships, and sustainable financing to help advance the future of robotic surgery and connected surgical care.
