Company
The story, mission, values, and leadership behind West Africa's first NAFDAC-approved robotic surgery platform.
A Global Standard. A Local Commitment. A Permanent Change.
RoboMed™ Global is a Nigerian-American medical technology and capacity-building company dedicated to transforming surgical care across West Africa and emerging healthcare markets worldwide. We are not a startup with a pitch deck and a dream.
We are a team of practicing surgeons, regulatory experts, healthcare strategists, and technology operators — who spent careers in America’s leading operating rooms and came home to build what didn’t exist.
Our model is intentionally global in standards and regional in execution. By combining international clinical expertise with deep local presence, we ensure that advanced surgical programs are not only launched successfully — they are sustained, scaled, and eventually owned by the communities they serve.
Our Founding History
Our founding surgeons trained and practiced in U.S. academic medical centers, performing hundreds of complex robotic procedures on the da Vinci system. They watched how robotic surgery transformed outcomes — shorter hospital stays, lower complication rates, faster recoveries, better cancer control. For American patients, it has become the standard of care.
And then they came home to Nigeria.
They found the same diseases — prostate cancer, uterine fibroids, colorectal tumors. The same brilliant Nigerian surgeons doing extraordinary work with inadequate tools. Patients traveling to India, Turkey, and the UK for procedures that should be available in Lagos, Abuja, and Port Harcourt. Complications that would have been prevented with better technology. Lives cut short by a gap that didn’t have to exist.
They asked one question: Why isn’t this here?
The answers were real — cost, regulation, training infrastructure, supply chains, institutional trust. So they decided to solve every one of them. Systematically. Permanently. Together.
On December 22, 2025, RoboMed™ achieved NAFDAC approval for the Toumai MT-1000 — the first robotic surgical platform ever approved by a regulatory authority in West Africa. The first robotic surgeries in the region followed at Nisa Premier Hospital in Abuja. The era had begun.
Our Mission
To democratize access to world-class surgical care by establishing sustainable robotic surgery programs across West Africa and beyond — training local surgeons, strengthening clinical infrastructure, and building healthcare systems that serve patients not just today, but for generations to come.
Establishing advanced robotic surgery programs within local hospital systems
Training and mentoring surgeons, nurses, and entire perioperative teams
Strengthening clinical infrastructure and long-term operational resilience
Reducing medical tourism by delivering world-class care locally
Promoting continuous professional development and clinical best practices
Implementing standardized procedures that ensure consistent, measurable outcomes
Innovation.
Precision.
Excellence.
Hospitals, governments, investors, and industry partners — there is a role for you in what RoboMed™ is building. We provide end-to-end partnership solutions from infrastructure assessment and system deployment through training, clinical integration, and long-term operational support.
Innovation
RoboMed™ leverages advanced robotic technology to transform surgical care, introducing modern, efficient, and minimally invasive procedures to Nigeria and West Africa. Our approach ensures continuous improvement and access to world-class medical solutions.
Precision
With robotic-assisted systems, RoboMed™ enhances surgical accuracy beyond traditional methods. This level of precision reduces risks, minimizes complications, and supports better clinical outcomes for patients.
Excellence
RoboMed™ is committed to delivering the highest standards of healthcare through expert-driven procedures, cutting-edge technology, and patient-centered care—ensuring quality, safety, and trust in every operation.
Our Vision
A West Africa — and ultimately an Africa — where no patient dies from a surgically treatable condition simply because the right technology or the right surgeon was not available. A generation of African surgeons among the finest robotic operators in the world.
A Continent Where Geography No Longer Determines Survival
RoboMed™ Global Vision is a scalable framework for African-led healthcare transformation — designed, built, and proven on the continent. It turns complex healthcare delivery into a structured, repeatable model that integrates regulation, technology, training, and infrastructure.
More than a solution, it is a blueprint for independence — enabling every nation to adopt, adapt, and replicate a system that delivers high-quality care sustainably, regardless of geography or economic constraints.
Equity
Every patient — regardless of where they live or what they earn — deserves access to advanced surgical care close to home. We build programs designed to close that gap, not widen it.
Excellence
We uphold global standards of safety, precision, and clinical outcomes without compromise. Rigorous training, proven technology, and continuous quality improvement are the foundation of everything we do.
Endurance
We build programs designed to outlast our direct involvement — because real impact is not measured in deployments, but in decades of sustainable performance.
Integrity
We are transparent, accountable, and trustworthy in every partnership, every contract, and every clinical decision we make.
Innovation
We build what has never existed here before — and we document it so that others across Africa and the developing world can replicate it.
Our Milestones
RoboMed™ Milestones represent the key phases that define progress from concept to full-scale healthcare transformation. Each milestone captures a validated step — from regulatory approval and infrastructure deployment to clinical training and operational rollout — ensuring that every stage is measurable, structured, and repeatable.
